Just a couple of weeks ago, Disney announced what sounds to be a promising ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom, Disney Villains After Hours. It's a twist to the traditional version of the event which features an almost empty park for guests to enjoy rides and attractions with virtually no wait at all. However, this villains version will includes a brand-new stage show and a sprinkle of spooky entertainment around the Magic Kingdom.
Villains Unite the Night will be a stage show exclusively for the event hosted by Hades. It will take place three times a night at the Castle Forecourt Stage in front of Cinderella Castle. (Please note that at this time we do not have details on exact showtimes.) In between shows, a DJ dance party will also take place in front of the castle for the duration of the evening.
With Meg by his side, Hades sits atop his dark throne awaiting the alignment of five planets, following a prophecy that states when the five come together he will be able to rule the universe. But this dastardly plan doesn’t go quite as expected, when an assemblage of Disney Villains interrupts his party. Jafar, The Queen, Dr. Facilier and Maleficent arrive with henchmen in tow, prepared to showcase their power with spine-tingling displays of skill. It seems these Villains have also heard the prophecy and believe they are the ones who will rule all.
Aside from this new stage show, the Maleficent dragon that is normally seen in the daytime hours during the Festival of Fantasy Parade, will also make appearances during the event. Space Mountain will receive a special musical overlay, that will hopefully be even better than what guests experience during last year's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. While Pirates of the Caribbean will feature a crew of scalawags invading the attraction. This sounds to be exactly the same as what we saw at the Halloween party last year.
As a reminder, this event does not include character greetings with the Villains. Tickets for Disney Villains After Hours go on sale April 29 and are $139 plus tax in advance or $144 plus tax on the event night.
