Showtimes Revealed for Wonderful World of Animation Show

As many of you know, Disney's Hollywood Studios is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Dozens of celebratory banners can already be seen around the park featuring characters now residing inside the park. May 1st will be the park's official big 3-0, and the park will debut a new nighttime projection show celebrating the long history of Disney animation and in honor of Mickey's 90th birthday celebration. The Wonderful World of Animation will transform the exterior of The Chinese Theatre with the use of state-of-the-art projections, and it is sure to be a spectacular show.

Showtimes for this upcoming show have now be revealed on the My Disney Experience App. Wonderful World of Animation currently has a 9:05pm performance time from May 1st through July 31st. At this time, performance times are not listed for dates after August 1st, 2019. On these nights, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is also scheduled to take place at 9:30pm. As a reference, dates from now until July 31st also include a 9pm showtime for Fantasmic! on Sunset Blvd. Which means guests will be forced to choose between the new projection show, and the long-running nighttime spectacular when visiting the park.

What is unconfirmed officially by Disney, is the fate of Disney Movie Magic. This projection show debuted out of nowhere during Memorial Day weekend in 2017. Similar to Wonderful World of Animation, it was a celebration of many live-action Disney films such as Mary Poppins and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. At this time, there are no showtimes listed on Disney's website or app for Disney Movie Magic beyond April, 30th. It seems that this new projection show could replace Disney Movie Magic altogether, but there are conflicting rumors traveling the internet.

Disney Movie Magic currently has shows scheduled from now until April 27th at 8:40pm and at 9:10pm on April 28th, 29th and 30th. If you want to watch the full show, click on the video link above.
