New Updated Version of River of Light Coming this Summer

Today, Disney has announced that Rivers of Light at Disney's Animal Kingdom, will be getting a minor upgrade that also ties into the summer celebration of The Lion King. The classic animated film is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and the release of the new live-action film. The park has already debuted the Hakuna Matata Dance Party in Discovery Island and announced that new scenes inspired by the film will be added to the Tree of Life Awakenings projection show starting May 27th, 2019. However, one more entertainment offering will get The Lion King treatment.

“Rivers of Light: We Are One” introduces additional, stunning imagery and familiar animal characters from Disneynature films, along with a colorful tapestry of classic moments from Disney animation, to express our connection with animals and the emotions and milestones we all share in our journey through the great circle of life. The music of “Rivers of Light: We Are One” weaves together the original musical score and familiar Disney themes to create a powerful arrangement that inspires and carries us through moments of discovery, fun, friendship, fear, love and family.

This updated version of Rivers of Light will debut during Memorial Day weekend. Fastpass+ reservations are available at this nighttime show and guests will be seated on the Asia side of the theatre. Guests can also snag a reserved viewing spot by purchasing the Rivers of Light Dining Package available at Tiffins and Tusker House. Each participating restaurant will also offer the dining package for those guests using the Disney Dining Plan. Guests entering wishing to see the show via the standby line, will be seated on the DinoLand U.S.A. side of the theatre.

Starting on Friday, May 24th, Rivers of Light will offer two different showtimes during the summer months. For up to date showtimes visit Disney's official website or pick up a times guide when you enter the park.
