New Festive Fireworks Show Coming to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

As suspected, Disney has just announced that the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom this year is not the only event that will debut a brand new fireworks spectacular. For 2019, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will feature a brand new nighttime show hosted by Minnie Mouse!

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will feature classic holiday songs such as “Joy to the World” and “Deck the Halls” to “Up on the House Top” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.” Both the Christmas party and Halloween Party have been long overdue for an update to the fireworks show. As magical as they were, Disney drastically upgraded the technology behind the park's fireworks display when Happily Ever After debuted. This new holiday show is expected to take advantage of the same state-of-the-art projections and lighting effects to light up the sky above Cinderella Castle during all the festive party nights.

In the past, the Christmas fireworks have taken place only once throughout the night during the parties. Disney hasn't officially released entertainment showtimes and schedules for this year's event, but I would expect the same to happen for 2019. Meaning for the first time in years, grabbing a good viewing spot could become a challenge once again. But since the event allows a significant lower number of guests compared to a normal day, we probably won't see jam-packed crowds all the way back to Main Street Station like you do for Happily Ever After. For those wanting to not worry about getting a good spot, you can also participate in the Fireworks Dessert Party, which comes at an extra cost. These dessert parties include a buffet with all-you-can enjoy desserts and beverages at Tomorrowland Terrace and a reserved viewing location for the fireworks. 2019 may finally be the year where it is really worth it.

Along with the announcement of this new show, Disney has confirmed that entertainment offerings such as Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas, Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration and of course the Frozen Holiday Wish Castle Lighting Ceremony will all be returning to the event this year. This year's Very Merry Christmas Party will take place on select nights from November 8th to December 22nd. You can find out more details about pricing and ticket purchasing, here.
