Just this past weekend at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, we learned a few new details about the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge expansion coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland park. During the weekend's panel discussion on the new lands coming to Disney Parks, Imagineer Christ Beatty, who is the Creative Director behind the entire Star Wars expansion, teased details on some beverage offerings coming to the land.
Two executives from Coca-Cola, Matt Cooper and Brad Spickett, took to the stage to reveal some new Coca-Cola products coming exclusively to the land on both coasts. While Galaxy's Edge will offer in-story food and beverage items such as Blue and Green Milk, the land will also sell Coca-Cola products but in a whole new way. New packaging for the classic beverages was revealed and they somewhat resemble thermal detonators seen in films such as Return of the Jedi. The label on the outside of these new bottles will also be written in Aurebesh, one of the most used languages in the galaxy.
While pricing has not been revealed for these Coca-Cola products, one has to wonder if given the smaller size to these bottles they will be priced accordingly. Either way, this is a clear move by Disney to create an entire experience completely within the story of Star Wars, even if that means packaging an iconic 3rd party beverage label into the world of Star Wars.
