There seems to be no shortage of offerings around Walt Disney World inspired by Disney's 30th animated feature film, Beauty and the Beast. Currently, guests can meet Belle in an elaborate meet and greet experience in Fantasyland, dine inside the Beast's castle at Be Our Guest Restaurant and watch a retelling of the story on Sunset Blvd at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Recently, Disney also announced that a new sing-along experience based on the live-action adaptation would soon take up residence inside the France Pavilion at Epcot. (Don't worry Impressions de France will still run in conjunction to this new show). But if that isn't enough for you to get your fix, a newly themed lounge is coming to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa inspired by the iconic film.
Formerly Mizner’s Lounge and Commander Porter’s, this re-imagined lounge will feature four unique spaces inspired by Belle and the Beast. The signature bar will glow from the light of a magnificent gold chandelier that takes its inspiration from Belle’s flowing ball gown, with subtle nods to the Beast’s magical rose. The formal library showcases classical baroque designs and French furnishings inspired by Belle, with hints of the Beast’s friends. The garden room will be a whimsical space that draws its inspiration from the enchanted forest surrounding Beast’s castle. And an outdoor patio will evoke the romance of Beast’s garden terrace.
Work has already begun on the unnamed lounge coming to the resort this fall. The new lounge will not only replace the previous Mizner's Lounge, but also an adjacent store. While work is underway, a pop-up bar is now located on the ground level of the resort's main building and the Grand Floridian Orchestra will continue to perform sets also on the ground floor.
At this time, there is no official opening date set for this new lounge or official name. But we can expect to enjoy a cocktail or two at this new bar in just a couple of months.
