Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway Pushed to Spring 2020 Opening

Good things come to those who wait. Today, Disneyland Resort President Josh D’Amaro, teased and announced that Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway will be coming to Toontown inside Disneyland Park in 2022. But slipped inside this announcement, Disney not-so-secretly revealed that the attraction has been delayed at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The first-ever attraction completely based on Mickey Mouse will not debut in Florida until the spring of 2020.

This is certainly some sad news for those wanting to experience a complete new Hollywood Studios during its big birthday year. But if it is to open before May 1st, 2020, it will still count as being added along many other new experiences within the park's 30th anniversary year. Perhaps this could all work out for the best given that the park will already see a huge influx of guests once Galaxy's Edge opens this August. Can you imagine the traffic jam with the opening of Star Wars and a Mickey Mouse ride at the same time and on top of the influx already coming in for Toy Story Land? We may have avoided a true nightmare. But when all is said and done, Hollywood Studios will boost five new attractions from Toy Story Land to Star Wars and Runaway Railway.
