In an effort to keep up with the times, and to accommodate guests who are vegetarians and/or vegans, the Magic Kingdom has debuted a new guide for plant-based foodies. At many of the dining locations around the park, you can now pick up a Plant Based Cuisine guide. It highlights vegetarian and vegan options available at dining locations around the park, both table service and quick service restaurants. Some notable dishes that I have not picked up on my radar previously include a Vegan Dog at Casey's Corner, the Vegan Brat at the Friar's Nook and Cauliflower Tacos at Pecos Bill's.
Alternatively, the updated My Disney Experience App has also made it easier for those with specific allergies to locate dishes more easily. When you select the mobile order service at a specified quick service restaurant, you'll notice an icon at the top of the screen that will highlight food items that are gluten free or allergy friendly. The only downside here is that this will only highlight options at quick service locations easily.
If you're a vegetarian, vegan or simply avoiding ingredients such as dairy and want full guide to dishes you can enjoy, pick up one of these special food guides. On a recent trip I took to Blizzard Beach, I noticed a similar sign offering more information on vegetarian options as well. I smell a Foodie Friday coming in the near future, just for vegetarians.
