It's time to celebrate America and I can't think of a better place to be on the 4th of July than Disney. I mean who can put on a better fireworks display? We now have a full line up of entertainment offerings around the resort for Independence Day this year and some long-standing traditions are coming back for 2019.
The Magic Kingdom will once again have two performances of Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky. This patriotic fireworks displays will light up Cinderella Castle on both July 3rd and 4th at 9:15pm. This will replace Happily Ever After, which will not have performances on these two dates. It will resume as normal on July 5th. On these two nights, Once Upon a Time, the Magic Kingdom's projection show narrated by Mrs. Potts, will perform after the fireworks at 10pm as normal.
Additionally, guests visiting the Magic Kingdom can also dance the night away with DJs spinning tunes at a Hoedown Throwdown in Frontierland and an out-of-this-world Galactic Gathering in Tomorrowland. But other entertainment offerings that take place year-round at the park are especially fun to watch during the 4th of July. Such as The Muppets Present...Great Moments in History in and the Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square. The Muppets show will take place 8 times a day from 11:35am to 5:20pm and The Hall of Presidents will perform every half hour from 9am to 9pm. Magic Kingdom will be open from 8am to 12am on July 3rd and from 8am to 1am on July 4th.
Over at Epcot, IllumiNations will perform its Fourth of July grand finale, The Heartbeat of Freedom, for the last time. As many of you probably know, IllumiNations will end it's nearly 20-year run over World Showcase Lagoon on September 30th, 2019. This will be the perfect sendoff to such a beloved Epcot show. Additionally, some of your favorite Disney characters will make appearances in their special patriotic gear throughout the day on July 4th. Disney has not confirmed exactly what characters will come out, but you can expect characters such as Mickey, Goofy and Donald in their Spirit of '76 costumes at the American Adventure all day.
Like the Magic Kingdom, Epcot offers some great year-round shows that will put you in the patriotic spirit. The Voices of Liberty will make a rare performance at the American Gardens Theater at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m on the 4th of July. According to Disney's official website, they will have their normal show inside the pavilion and under the rotunda at 2pm and 3:15pm as well. Guardians of the Galaxy - Awesome Mix Live will have an adjusted performance schedule for the 4th of July to accommodate the Voices of Liberty. The alien band will perform only 4 times that day at 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm & 2:30pm. Epcot is scheduled to be open from 9am to 9pm on the 4th of July.
