Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny at the Magic Kingdom

Easter is officially a week away, and there are a few ways to celebrate if your visiting the parks at Walt Disney World this week. From chocolate treats available at select Walt Disney World resorts and a special egg hunt at Epcot, to meeting the Easter Bunny himself inside the park. There are several ways to welcome spring this week in Orlando.

2019 Eggstravaganza Hunt at Epcot Flower & Garden

Minnie Easter Egg at the American Adventure

Every event at Epcot features a scavenger hunt for kids to enjoy. But during Flower & Garden, there are two hunts going on right now. The event's main hunt, Spike's Pollen Nation Exploration, takes place throughout the entire festival which is now running until June 3rd. But from April 5th through the 21st, the event's second hunt is also available, the 2019 Eggstravaganza Hunt. Dotted around World Showcase, and even spilling into Future World a little, there are hidden character eggs. You can purchase and official map to keep track of the eggs you find at the World Traveler Store at the International Gateway Entrance, the Port of Entry store in Showcase Plaza, the Pin Trading Station in Future World and several other merchandise locations. Maps are priced at $6.99 and there is a discount for Annual Passholders.

Once you complete the egg hunt, you can return to one of the redemption locations to pick up a special prize. These locations include World Traveler, Port of Entry and Gateway Gifts underneath Spaceship Earth. This year's prize is one of six character eggs. Inside each egg is a special gift and each one is different. Timothy Mouse had a fun stamp inside. The six characters featured on the eggs are Mickey, Minnie, Aurora, Maleficent, Dumbo and Timothy Mouse.

Easter Activities at the UK Pavilion in World Showcase

Every year during Easter weekend, the UK Pavilion hosts several fun activities that little ones can enjoy. This year there will be three different games kids can play and Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny will also make appearances to meet guests. As always, there will be two different egg hunts, one for kids 3 and up, and a second one for toddlers under the age of 3. These egg hunts will take place every 10 minutes from 11am to 3:330pm. Sign up for the egg hunt takes place 30 minutes before each one begins. Additionally, there will be egg relays for kids 8 to 12 from 11:40am to 3:40pm, and a Basket Toss running continuously. Finally, Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny will be out posing for pictures from 11:30am to 4pm.

Easter Treat Stand at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Inside the grand lobby and atrium of Disney's Grand Floridian you'll find the Easter Treat Stand open from 10am to 6pm and several decorated eggs on display. The Easter Treat Stand offers several sweet treats similar to the Gingerbread House during the holidays. Treats include various bunny cake pops at $6, the Carrot Blondie at $5, sugar cookies at $7, a Mickey Whoopie Pie at $5, hot cross buns at $3, a 1/2 pound chocolate Easter egg at $8 and the 'Grand Egg' filled with jelly beans inside at $9.

While visiting the resort, don't forget to enjoy the beautiful display of decorated Easter eggs right in the atrium. Disney chefs have been creating these beautiful eggs for over 24 years and this year's displays features characters such as Lady and the Tramp, Pinocchio and BB-8. The Easter egg display will be up through April 27th, 2019. And if Easter egg displays are what you're looking for, there are similar displays now up at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Yacht Club.

Easter Parade at the Magic Kingdom

Who doesn't love a good parade? Well for Easter Weekend there will be a special Easter Pre-Parade before the Festival of Fantasy parade. The pre-parade will be lead by Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny and several rare Disney characters such as Thumper, the White Rabbit and Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh. Additional characters that have appeared in the past include the Dancing Hippos and Ostriches from Fantasia and Clara Cluck. The pre-parde ends with the Azalea Trail Maids dressed in their pastel-colored dresses. It's a beautiful, spring-time celebration. The Easter Pre-Parade will take place on both Saturday April 20th and Sunday 21st just before Festival of Fantasy which is scheduled for 3pm.

Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny at the Magic Kingdom

Bunny Lane Garden on Main Street U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom

Finally, returning once again to the Magic Kingdom are Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny. The cute pair are meeting guests right at the entrance to the park on Main Street U.S.A. The Bunny Lane Garden can be found on the west side of Town Square in between City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce. This location is also used sometimes for Snow White to meet guests as well as Santa Claus during the holidays.

The small courtyard is surrounded by pastel colored bird houses. The beautiful colors continue with the new floral arrangements in this area and the purple wisteria flowers adorning the awning above the two characters. Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny are currently scheduled to be out meeting guests through Easter Sunday. The bunnies do not sign autograph books, but you can receive a pre-signed card. They usually come out at 9am and stay out until 5:30pm. When I visited Magic Kingdom a couple of days ago the parks were oddly empty. I only waited about 10 minutes to meet the pair. As the week continues and inches closer to Sunday, it is fair to expect waits here to increase slightly.
